A. if you draw up a grid and get at least 4 (x,y) points from the real life example (if you have a good photograph or something), put it in a table on your calculator and when you put it through the regression function (which is how I'm assuming you got the equation for the line) it should give you an r value, which gives you a valueof how good a fit the line is to the points you have put in. If the r value is 1 it's a perfect fit, if it's near to 1 it is very good.

Secondary Air Adequacy for Furnace?
Q. My home inspector just got done with his inspection on my pending house purchase. He mentioned that the secondary air for combustion and flue draft appears to be inadequate. He said that not having enough secondary air can cause carbon monoxide buildup. He suggested something about putting in two vents, one 12" from the floor and one 12" from the celing. I'm wondering if I just have to add these vents to a wall that goes around the furnace room or if it is something more than that?

A. Vents throught the wall will be fine. It may be easier to install them in the door, or replace the door with a louvered door. Either way, not a real big problem to fix, but it does need to be done.
